Privacy policy

We do not sell your data and we do not have accounts, so there is nothing to log into. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read, and affiliate links that tell the retailer the visit came from here. If you fill in the contact form, we receive what you typed.

• Analytics data, via Google Analytics 4: pages viewed, roughly how long for, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, and how you arrived. This is used in aggregate to decide what to write next.
• Affiliate click events. When you click a product link we record that a click happened, which merchant it was for and which page it came from, so we can see which recommendations are useful. It is not tied to an identity.
• Contact form submissions. Your name, email address and message, sent to our inbox so we can reply. Nothing else, and it is not added to any mailing list.
• Standard server logs from our hosting provider, including IP addresses, retained for security and reliability purposes.

We do not collect payment information, because nothing is sold here. We do not run accounts, so there are no passwords. We do not have a newsletter.

Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish returning visits from new ones. Amazon and other retailers set their own cookies when you follow an affiliate link, which is how a purchase is attributed to this site. Those cookies are set by them under their own privacy policies, not by us.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works normally without them; we just see less about how it is being used.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond what is needed to run the site.

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' configured retention period. Contact form messages are kept in our inbox for as long as they are useful for the correspondence and any follow-up. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider on their schedule.

• Block cookies or use your browser's private browsing mode.
• Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop analytics collection.
• Use a tracker-blocking extension; the site is fully readable without any of it.
• Ask us to delete a contact form message by writing to contact@honeandhandle.com.

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
