What we hold ourselves to, and what to do when we fall short of it.

Factual claims about steel composition, hardness, blade geometry, edge angles and sharpening technique are sourced, and the source is linked on the page where the claim appears — not exiled to a list at the bottom.

• Specifications come from a manufacturer page or a specialist retailer listing. We do not publish specifications from memory.
• Contested claims are shown as contested. Sharpening angle guidance is a good example: general guidance from sharpening retailers puts most kitchen knives at 17 to 20 degrees per side, while Japanese-knife specialists commonly say 15 to 16, and Wüsthof grinds its Classic line at 14. We show the disagreement rather than flattening it into one number.
• No unattributed statistics. If a figure appears here, it has a named, linked source.

• Testing we did not perform, in any form or volume
• Credentials, qualifications or professional roles we do not hold
• Prices, ratings or review counts we cannot verify from a live source
• Testimonials or customer reviews — there are none on this site, because we have no verified ones
• Urgency or scarcity claims, since we have no live stock or price data and any such claim would be fabricated

Corrections are made in place, the last updated date is changed, and where the correction is material — a wrong specification, a wrong recommendation — a visible correction note is added to the page. We do not quietly edit and pretend the error never happened.

The last updated date on a page changes only when the content actually changed. We do not bump dates to look fresh. It is a trust violation, it is detectable, and it makes the date meaningless for the readers who rely on it.
